Memphis Works holds Information Sessions and tours twice a week. Call Leah Gardner at 767-0922 ext. 1002 to schedule an information session any Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. or any Thursday at 1:30 p.m. The information session and tour takes about an hour and a half. In this session the potential client will learn about Memphis Works programs, learn how to enroll, learn how to get tuition assistance for training, meet the instructors, and tour the facility. While appointments are not necessary for information sessions, please call ahead to ensure that no changes have been made in the schedule

Directions to Memphis Works

If you are riding a MATA bus, Bus #19 National Cemetery, Macon, Vollentine comes right to Memphis Works.

If you are coming from East Memphis or South Memphis:
• Take I 240 past the Summer Avenue exit to the Covington Pike exit.
• Go left on Covington Pike
• Turn right at McCrory (the first light).
• Go to Wells Station Road and turn right (first light on McCrory).
• Continue on Wells Station Road for 1 mile. You will see Wells Station Elementary School on your right.
• Turn left on Leroy Avenue (exactly across from Wells Station Elementary School).
• Memphis Works is located 2 blocks down on your left at 4189 Leroy Avenue.
• We are located in the only building on the street that is not a house. We are located in the St. James Catholic Church building.

If you are coming from North Memphis:
• Take Austin Peay south under the I 240 where Austin Peay becomes Jackson.
• Turn left at the first light on Jackson called Wales.
• Take Wales to the first street called Graham.
• Turn right on Graham.
• After you cross over the railroad tracks, Leroy Avenue is the 4th street.
• Turn left on Leroy.
• Memphis Works is located 2 blocks down on your right at 4189 Leroy Avenue.
• We are located in the only building on the street that is not a house. We are located in the St. James Catholic Church building.

If you are coming from Midtown or Downtown Memphis:
• Take Summer Avenue east.
• Turn left on Waring (the street that runs beside the Stein Mart on Summer Avenue).
• Take Waring 2 miles.
• Waring changes names to Wells Station when you go through the light at Macon.
• Keep going straight.
• You will see Wells Station Elementary School on your right.
• Turn left on Leroy Avenue (exactly across from Wells Station Elementary School).
• Memphis Works is located 2 blocks down on your left at 4189 Leroy Avenue.
